# Terms of use

> The terms for using Anlo during early access, including what Anlo is not, fair use of the AI, and your recovery phrase.

These terms apply to the Anlo app, the Anlo AI service at `api.anlo.app`, and this website (together, "Anlo"). Anlo is provided by [legal entity name] ("we"). By using Anlo you agree to them. Our [privacy policy](/privacy/) explains how we handle your data.

## Who can use Anlo

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age to use online services without parental consent in your country if that's higher. If you use Anlo for someone else, you must have their permission.

## Early access

Anlo is early-access software. Features may change, break or be removed, and access to the AI service is by invitation. We may end early access, or your invitation, at any time; your log stays on your phone either way.

## Not medical advice

Anlo helps you track food and health measurements and suggests what to eat next. **It is not a medical device**, it does not diagnose or treat any condition, and **it does not give medication advice**. Nutrition values, summaries and suggestions are **estimates** produced by AI and can be wrong. Patterns Anlo points out are not proof of cause. Talk to a doctor or other qualified professional before changing your diet, medication or treatment, and don't ignore professional advice because of something Anlo said. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.

## Your account and recovery phrase

Your Anlo account is a key stored on your phone. The **24-word recovery phrase** is the only way to restore it. Keep it private and safe: anyone with it can use your account, and we can't recover or reset it. You're responsible for activity under your account.

## Fair use of the AI

The AI features are for logging and understanding your own food and health. You agree not to:

- use the service for anything other than Anlo's features (for example as a general chatbot or coding assistant), or call the API from other software;
- try to get around usage limits, invitations or security controls, or share, sell or automate access;
- send content that is unlawful, or that you don't have the right to send;
- interfere with the service or other people's use of it.

We apply daily limits per account and may suspend accounts that break these rules.

## Fees

[Confirm: Anlo is free during early access.] If we introduce paid features later, we'll show the price before you pay and these terms will be updated first.

## Third-party services

Anlo relies on other services: Apple (App Store, and speech recognition when it isn't done on your device) and Cloudflare (hosting and the AI models). Their own terms and privacy policies also apply to your use of them.

## Your content

You keep all rights to what you log. You give us permission to process the content you send to the AI only to provide the answer back to you, as described in the privacy policy.

## Our service

Anlo, its design and its software belong to us or our licensors. You may use the app for your personal, non-commercial use.

## Disclaimers and liability

Anlo is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, for loss of data you didn't back up, or for decisions you make based on Anlo's estimates, and our total liability is limited to [the amount you paid us in the last 12 months, or USD 50, whichever is greater]. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be waived.

## Ending

You can stop using Anlo at any time by deleting the app and, if you want, asking us to remove your account record. We may suspend or end access if you break these terms or if we stop offering Anlo.

## Changes and law

We may update these terms; we'll post changes here and update the date above, and tell you in the app if a change is significant. These terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction], except where your local consumer law says otherwise.
